Checklist of what to ask and what to look for:

1. Inspect their workrooms  and how their staff work.  If they have a workroom they will be proud to show it. Manufacturers with their own workroom control quality from start to finish.

2. If they dont have their own workroom, ask who they contract out their work too and if you can visit thier workrooms if they become evasive or refuse it is usually a sign they have something to hide.

3. Be wary of 'special offers or discounts' - their is no such thing as a free meal if the price is being discounted the cost will be recovered sommehere else.

4.  Ask them about their staff  - how long have they worked in the industry, what kind of specialist skills they have.

5. Check to see if there are any curtians hanging in the workroom - all curtains should be steamed and hung for at least 48 hours prior to installation.

6. Ask if they have any recent clients you can contact to ask about the quality of their work
